Lavender Lane
La Cañada, CA

Past clients requested that Norman Sanchez Architecture Inc. design a new custom home for their primary residence in the hills of Los Angeles.  The main floor consisted of a formal entry, living room and dining room, a guest suite, an office and an inviting great room with direct connection to the kitchen.  Some key design elements were: a stately entrance to the home allowing for formal entertaining, strategically placed skylights in the kitchen to allow for natural day lighting while minimizing undesirable heat gain, built-in bookcases, bench seat and cabinetry in the great room to provide convenient and accessible display and storage options for the young family.

The upper floor consisted of three bedrooms, two baths, a master suite with walk-in closet and a laundry room.  A ceiling of continuous skylights above the stair provided abundant natural lighting and a mezmerizing view of the night sky.

A detached two-car garage, storage room, and pool house were designed around an existing pool that allowed for maximum utilization of the expansive lot while maintaining ample yard for the clients’ young children.
